I am a huge fan of long necklaces. They can make any casual outfit look smarter and add some bling to your jeans and t-shirt look. Most shops have a really good range including Topshop and Newlook and obviously you can pick up more expensive versions in Harvey Nicks or Selfridges. I personally like a bargain and haven’t found a better one than Portabello market in London for these types of necklaces where I picked up a long gold necklace with a jade flower charm and gold hearts on for just a fiver. You can find everything and anything in that market. The best one I saw was a diamante pair of scissors charm on the end of a long silver chain.

Kara Ross is a New York designer that has just recently moved her NY brand to London. Her outlandish use of vibrant colours and precious and semi-precious stones has gained her favour among the A-listers in New York and I can see why. Her jewellery is stunning and totally in for this summer. Bright colours are the way forward this season and a Kara Ross piece would set off your outfit quite nicely!
After designing gold, crystal incrusted Cuffs for a J. Mendel fashion show this summer, Kara Ross started to expand her ‘Diffusion’ collection, designing earrings, rings and necklaces and finally to my delight she has got a handbag collection.
Her use of colour, luxurious materials, exotic skins and precious and semi-precious stones make her bags not only beautiful but unique. Now I’m personally not a fan of using skins or furs for fashion but I love gems on jewellery and accessories and nothing says Bling quite like a huge stone on the front of your handbag!!
Now I’ve not seen a price quoted on either the Kara Ross website www.kararossny.com or Selfridges www.selfridge.com which means it would probably cost you less to buy a car than one of Kara Ross’ handbags but hey a girl can always dream can’t she!!
Seriously ‘Posh Bling’!!!
Jewellery you could probably only afford to look at! (That is until your sugar daddy comes along!!)
You can find the Theo Fenell collection in the Wonder Room at Selfridges on Oxford Street, London. This glittering collection boasts dazzling silver, enameled fairies, a unique twist to the heart pendant (see the picture), Keys and Crosses, Charm bracelets, bespoke pieces such as silver Locomotives and much more. You can also check him out on the Theo Fenell’s website www.theofenell.com But believe me most of the pieces are priced higher than your average house deposit!!
There are more shiny things to grab your attention in the Wonder Room though, including designers such as Tiffany and Co, Chanel and Bulgari. Selfridges describes the Wonder Room as the ‘ultimate watches, jewellery and luxury gift destination’, luxury being the operative word! But hey I’m a fan of all things pretty and shiny and Theo Fenell’s collection is most definitely that!! Check out the Wonder Room on the Selfridges website to see more www.selfridges.com
