This season its all about making a statement with your jewellery!

With the high street shops constantly keeping up to date with the cat walk fashions then there is no reason why you cant also look like a super star.

Chunky wood and silver bangles are the look to go for teaming them with linen trousers and a kaftan.

Ethnic jewellery is also a must have this summer with a mass of jewels, chains and beads.

Try adding a clip to your hair, flowers have made a massive comeback.

You can pretty much get away with anything these days, so clear out your jewellery box and make way for this summers accessories!!

Beads and charm bracelets are making a massive come back this summer and if your struggling on where to find the perfect items then look no further than Debenhams.

The store have just had some new arrivals, and in my opinion they look fab, great to team with a summer dress and sandals.

This charm bracelet is great for summer, with the sea blue colours its definitely a must have, it has also been reduced from £10.00 to £8.00, fantastic!!!!!

Check out more of the new arrivals available here.

I haven’t shopped for jewellery in the likes of H.Samuel or Argos for years but recently I had to buy a gift for my niece and I was pleasantly surprised by H.Samuel.

They now have a much more extensive range. You can shop online aswell and it is all delivered door to door hassle free! What more could you want?

Check out their website and let me know what you think? :-)

Many wedding rings are not very eco-friendly, there are eco-issues with the Diamond Trade.

If your wanting to be a bit more greener when it comes to buyin jewellery you’ve got a few options:

Hit the streets: Used is your best bet and many higher end antique stores carry beautiful vintage rings. The negatives are that the rings you find still may be made with questionable materials, and the search can take longer. Plus mens rings in a style you like may be harder to come by.

Use what you have: If you have jewellery that is significant to you, like your grandmothers bracelet or necklace, it can be melted down into a ring in most cases. Of course it depends on the material and size. Talk to a local jeweller to learn more.

Wooden rings: Wooden bands made with sustainable, reclaimed, or recycled wood is a great choice so far as beauty goes. Some are made with silver, some not, but I really like the look of many I’ve seen.

Heidi Klum was snapped recently at some showbiz event (see below) with a hell of alot of jewellery on!

Of course they were all from her collection Mouward. The bling was worth around 18K-wow! It was a mixture of pink Diamonds, Rubies and Kunzites all set in Rose Gold.

I personally don’t like it, a bit too OTT don’t ya think?!

When picking a diamond I think the shape is really important i have listed below the different types and tips!

Princess : One of the most popular diamond shapes, the princess cut is known for its brilliance. With pointed corners and a traditional square/rectangular shape, this stone often finds its way into engagement rings. If you have long, slim fingers, this is the diamond shape you should have mounted in your wedding ring.

Round: The round shape is considered the most traditional of all diamond structures. It gives a designer the utmost flexibility in terms of balancing cut, colour and clarity.

Emerald: The emerald-shaped diamond is known for its rectangular facets. Its concentric, broad flat planes highlight the clarity of the diamond. Beware of inferior colours as they tend to be more pronounced in this shape. Look for clarity and colour while choosing.

Asscher\Square : The Asscher shape is almost identical to the emerald cut, except that it is slightly squarer. In fact, it is often called the square emerald cut and also has cropped corners that highlight the clarity of the diamond.

Marquise :The marquise shape in diamonds is said to have been inspired by the smile of the Marquise de Pompadour. It was then commissioned by France’s Louis XIV, who wanted a diamond to match the shape of her smile. This slightly elongated diamond with pointed ends looks beautiful when set with round, oval or pear-shaped stones. The shape makes the diamond look slightly bigger than in actuality and makes the fingers of the wearer appear long and slender.

Oval: The symmetrical oval design is very similar to the round diamond in terms of shape and brilliance. These diamonds are great for women who have small hands as the shape tends to make fingers appear long and shapely.

Radiant : The radiant diamond varies between a square and a rectangular shape. The trimmed corners of this diamond make it appear extremely elegant and brilliant. This shape looks its best when set with round diamonds in a necklace or a bracelet.

Pear-shaped : The pear-shaped diamond has the qualities of both oval and marquise diamonds. This exquisite shape looks like a glistening teardrop. The single point and rounded end of the diamond has a slimming effect on the fingers.

Cushion-shaped : The cushion shape resembles late 19th century antique style shapes. These diamonds have deep cuts, rounded corners and larger facets, which result in a higher brilliance and clarity.

Trilliant: The trilliant-cut diamond stands out for its unique triangular shape. This exceptional shape is created with equal sides and 50 facets.

Beyonce and rapper star Jay Z tied the knot in secret this month, the couple have finally confirmed that they are actually married!!

When Jay Z was asked about why he wasn’t wearing a wedding ring he said he doesn’t feel the need to wear jewellery as he already has a ‘ring’ tattooed on his wedding finger. The rapper said he has enough bling and doesn’t feel the need to wear anymore in public!

Ooooh wonder what Beyonce thinks of that? Low key wedding and now no ring? Come on guys where has the tradition and romance gone??!!!
