After purchasing the wedding ring, you now need to decide how you are going to propose? There are millions of different ways and it is important that you get it right. This is the moment she will remember for the rest of her life because she will hopefully only get married once in her life time! I have listed a few most popular ways to propose below:

  • A sun rise or sun set proposal can be very romantic – this is cheap and simple.
  • Romantic night in - Cook her, her favourite meal and light lots of flickering candles
  • If she likes it – takes her camping and propose by the campfire
  • Take her to the place where you very first met and have a picnic

Where ever you plan on proposing to the love of your life, just ensure you tell her why you love her and how you want to spend the rest of your life with her by your side.

So you’ve been with your partner for long enough and you feel that you are ready to take the relationship to the next stage. You go out and buy a ring which you know she will love and then the next important task is to ask the father of the bride for his daughters hand in marriage.

Think about what you are going to say to your girlfriend’s father before you meet him.

Ask to speak with him in private and present yourself in a positive light to make a good impression, show your respect for him, and reflect on the seriousness of the issue.

Explain that his daughter is the most important person in the world to you and that you love her and want to make her happy. Then see what he says! I am positive that he is more than likely going to say yes so bite the bullet and go for it!

Even though some wedding traditions are going out of fashion and losing their appeal, there are some wedding traditions which are increasing in appeal and people are doing them more and more often.

  • Surviving tradition: More men get down on one knee to propose than did in the 1960s
  • Surviving tradition: Mothers can expect a big bunch of flowers from their offspring by way of thanks.

I was a chief bridesmaid for my best friend’s wedding back in May and it was the best wedding I have ever been to. She kept the tradition of something old, new, borrowed and blue. Kirsty and her husband also gave their mothers a bunch of flowers to say thank you. They also gave the guests favours which were on the tables as everyone sat down - fantastic wedding!

I may be a bit of a traditionalist but I believe it is essential for a man to ask his girlfriend’s father for his daughters hand in marriage. This is NOT because a woman is a man’s possession – strongly disagree with this - a man should ask his partners father out of respect.

Some men believe it is a cheesy tradition to ask a father for his daughter’s hand in marriage, however it should be done, as this reinforces the relationship between the potential son in law and the woman’s father.

When my boyfriend proposes to me (ha – notice how I didn’t say ‘if’ – hope I’ve not just jinxed myself!) I would definitely expect him to ask my dad first – in the majority of cases the dad will definitely say yes. However, there would have to be something very wrong if the father said no to you!

I have been looking for some casual jewellery wear as I seem to be just slobbing about in my quicksilver clothes as they are they make the most comfortable jeans in the world when you want baggy ones.

I have found that New look do lots of quirky little stud earrings or even  hoops depending on the look you are going for but be careful you don’t look like a chav when wearing hoops and casual clothes because I have nearly made this mistake lots of times.

Top shop and River Island do a good range as well but I have found these tend to be more dress up jeweler with their headbands, cocktail rings, over the top necklaces and even bracelets.

I am obsessed with shoes at the moment, the other day I threw away 8 pairs of shoes which I have not even worn in about a year as they are so dated but I convinced myself that they would come back into fashion one day.

Lastly I have to say that I saw a girl going into the gym the other day with a full face of make up on, bangles all the way up her arm, a long necklace on and big hoop earrings, why on earth would she do that??

My friends are all raving about the new line of jewellery on Asos made by Disney.  One of them has bought the Disney Couture 14ct Gold plate “Fairest Of Them All” necklaces (Seen Below) which costs £24.50 online, which Lindsay Lohan has been seen wearing.

I have also found on Asos a 14ct Gold Plate Sitting Tink necklace, a Gold Plated Beauty & the Beast Crest Ring, a Gold And Crystal “Believe” Short Necklace and they have lots of other items on there as well.

My friends got them because they are different and a bit fun.

For more information go to www.asos.com and have a look.

I wonder that now Katie Price and Peter Andre have broken up she will give me her wedding ring, i know most people thought i was tacky but i loved it.  I am not saying that i would like one the same when i get married (not that i could afford it) but it would be a nice ring for the odd night i get to go out.

Katie and Peter have both made their first public appearance today with Katie strutting her stuff in a tiny white biking up a catwalk (with a great tan after her stay at the Maldives0 and Peter was on stage with a lot of sexy strippers for Here Come the Boys dance show at the London O2.

There are loads of sales on at the moment so this means all the shop windows have banners advising of this, i know there is a recession on at the moment but i must say it is an advantage to my shopping habit as it means i get more for my money.

I am loving the Dorothy Perkins sale at the moment and they even had half price jewellery online which i may have purchased a few items.  Looks like i am going to have to buy a bigger jewellery box and even a new wardrobe to go with them.

The sales in my favorite shops beat the buy one get one free offers in the supermarket during the depressing weekly shop.

If you log on to the websites you can sign up for weekly or daily newsletters so that you don’t miss the online deals when they happen and they have some great deals so why not sign up during your lunch break and waste some time and to annoy your friends sign them up but use their work email so they get in trouble.. he

Rihanna has requested that all the jewellery taken as evidence the night she was allegedly attacked by her now ex boyfriend Chris Brown be returned to her.

She was wearing $1.4 million (£1 million) worth of jewellery just hours before the Grammy Awards in February.

The jewellery included earrings and three rings were on loan to the Umbrella singer from an unamed shop but her lawyer, Donald Etra, said he believes the police will have no problem in releasing the jewellery.

“Apparently, initially, the police felt that it would be needed as evidence, ” Mr Etra told the BBC.
“Now the belief is that photographs would be more than sufficient.
“That being the case, we’re asking the district attorney to return the pieces.”

I have found a few tips on how to keep your jewellery in tip top condition.

1. only wear jewellery for appropriate tasks, eg, dont wear rings for washing up, cleaning, gardening or sports activities.
2. take jewellery off when applying hairspray, perfume or using nail varnish removers.
3. Clean all jewellery regularly using special products.}
4. When removing rings for tasks, eg going to the gym, washing up, don’t leave them by the sink always add them to your necklace or put away properly.
5. Take all jewellery off when swimming as chlorine can cause damage.

The biggest advice i can give is to never scrimp on jewellery as the cheaper it is the worst it has been made.
