A couple of friends of mine have asked me to write to inform you that some jewellery items from Topshop have been breaking on them.

one of them informed me that they have bought a ring with a chunky flower 3 times now and each time one or more of the petals have fallen off, another one said a necklace with stars on kept on loosing the stars and a bracelet kept loosing chains and another necklace snapped.

I could understand if they were £5 or under but the ring cost £10 and the necklace cost around £15.

A new ring was purchased from River island for £10 and this one is still intact even after wearing it numerous times.

I have found a site based in the USA that make bracelets which have a name in beads which i think would be quite sweet for a little girl as a birthday present.  They are made from Sterling Silver or 18 Carat Gold.

You can have 1 name, 2 names made for twins and they even have ones with your birthstone on if you want to be different.

Tiny Sugars are doing a range for the upcoming Mothers day which is on 22nd March 2009 and even for Grandmothers if you would like to treat them as well as your Mum.

For a look at all the products go to www.tinysugars.com.

I know not all mothers are under the age of 50 but H Samuel have some really disgusting items on their website which they are recomending as Mothers day presents which personally I know not even my Grandma would wear and she is 70+.

they have a selection of brooches ranging from around £20 and a ring which costs £99, I don’t know how they can advertise these and think they will sell them.

To have a look and to see if your MUM would wear these visit www.hsamuel.co.uk and leave me a message at the end of this post of your honest opinion.

With Mothers day drawing near (22nd March 2009) the jewellery stores are coming up with ideas of a special present you can buy for your Mum.

Links of London have come up with a Flutter & Wow collection which includes necklaces, rings and earrings which includes heart shaped pendants.

These come in gold and silver and are not a bad price, they start from £65 to a whopping £4000 for a 18ct Gold & Diamond Bangle.

They also do a charm collection which I have seen lots of older ladies wearing so why not treat your Special Mother to one of these but these do not come cheap…

I sooo want to be a celebrity especially when i read that Jennifer Lopez received £35,700 worth of jewellery for showing up at a fashion show for Andrea Lieberman.

A Friend of Andrea Lieberman’s, Swiss billionaire Robert Mouawad, gave J-Lo the jewellery as a present for showing up at the show but reportedly she demanded the jewellery after she borrowed it for the date.

The likes of Gwen Stefani, Leah Remini and Ellen Pompeo also borrowed bling, which was all returned the following day so I am unsure as to why she was given the jewellery but I would not compain if I was in her shoes.

Mamas & Papas have brought out a line of jewellery to go with their maternity range and personally i would not wear it (if i ever get pregnant) as i don’t see why you have to get dowdy stuff when every female has a large jewellery collection already.

I have been looking at the spring / summer collection and the majority of it is beeds, where does it state that you have to wear beads when you are pregnant.
Get your charm bracelets, chandalier earrings, layered necklaces out to accessorise your outfit, why change just because you are having a baby??

I am not sure what is going on at the moment but everyone wants to buy a designer watch or diamonds (eg engagement ring) but put these on finance with the current climate at the moment this does not always get paid back and than you get a debt collection agency knocking at your door.

This has recently happened to my friend who bought his now fiancé an engagement ring and could not afford the re payments and one day his fiancé had a debt collection agency calling her asking for the payments which had been missed or the ring would go back to the shop and this shocked her as she had no idea it had been put on finance.

The most common reason for this is that people say an engagement ring should be at least 3 months salary so they take this as law but at the end of the day it is the thought that counts not the cost.
If you go online all the high street jewellery shops offer Finance on their jewellery so they can get money in because of the current situation with the credit crunch Jewellery is the last thing which people will want to buy.

For all of you who are on the dating scene at the moment make sure you accessorise your outfit to give you that extra confidence, i know it sounds stupid but when you have an outfit on you are happy with you look happy on the outside but i know when you dont you just dont want to be there.
Dont forget to put you earrings in, ring on and bracelet on but remember to over accessorize is ok at the moment, i love piling on the jewellery especially when i am wearing my pearls and cream/white jewellery with a black outfit as it brings some colour out but black is still a slimming colour.
Jewellery does not have to cost a fortune, all the high street shops like Topshop, River Island, Dorothy Perkins, New Look etc have gorgeous items which will not clear you out because you always have to remember when dating he may just ask you to pay half of the bill.

studs

I am really into the stud earrings at the moment as i seem to wear my hair up a lot at the moment because it is at an awkward length but i am not on the dating scene at the moment so i dont have to worry about all this.

I heard the other day that when proposing to your girlfriend you should spend at least 3 months wages on an engagement ring, who the hell ever made that up??  It should not be about the size or how much it cost it should be the thought that counts and anyone who thinks differently is a very shallow person.

The only people in this current climate are celebrities or high powered business me who are still loosing everything at the drop of a hat, and Celebrities just seem to get engaged for the fun of it.

Paris Hilton was rumored to have said to another celebrity that her engagement ring was bigger than theirs which i thought was really bitchy but i would not expect anything less than that from her.

So for all you shallow women who would actually say no to a proposal because of the size or price of the ring get a life and grow up…..

I have always been interested in my Birthstone which is Emerald as my Mum bought me a ring for my 15th birthday with my birthstone and was talking to my friend the other day and she did not even know what her birthstone was so i went online to find out for her.
Birthstones tend to be a very personal choice, even to the point that people which don’t like the color of their own birthstone will find any excuse to claim another.
If you dont have a clue what your birth stone is i have done a list below:
January – Garnet
February – Amethyst
March – Aquamarine
April – Diamond
May – Emerald
June - Pearl
July – Ruby
August – Peridot
September – Sapphire
October – Opal
November – Topaz
December - Turquoise
