The largest robbery on a jewellery store in Paris, Harry Winston, was taken place around 5.30pm on Thursday 04th December by a group of four men who disguised themselves as women wearing wigs, makeup and dresses.

Police put the estimated total value of the haul at €80m (£70m), making it by far the largest jewel robbery carried out in France. “This is certainly a record,” said Doron Levy, a spokesman for the French union of jewellers. “It exceeds anything we’ve seen here going back years.”

The robbers carried out a quick tour of the boutique, stuffing diamond rings, necklaces, broaches and luxury watches into bags before taking off. Appearing to have knowledge of the layout of the store, they knew the location of supposedly top-secret storage boxes and referred to staff by their first names. Within minutes, the shop was nearly empty, and the robbers had sped off.

This has been dubbed by the French Police as the “steel of the century”

This store are specialists in so-called “ultra-luxe” jewellery, and the American store is a hot spot for international celebrities and, has a reputation for precious stones.

A lot of people are struggling buying presents for their loved ones this Christmas period and are resorting to getting Bad Credit Loans to ensure they can afford this but a lot of the jewellers have now lowered their prices because of the change of tax to 15% and also if you log onto the websites and a few of them have a discount voucher you can print off and use or have sales in their shops.

Goldsmiths even do a 0% interest free credit where you get up to 36 months interest free credit. Now that sounds like a deal and they actually have some half decent jewellery on their site.

I am trying to hint to my boyfriend to buy me some expensive jewellery but he is moaning about the cost but now I know about the special offers the shops have on at the moment I will give it another go and leave the vouchers around the house and he may take the hint, but you never know he is a man.

Personally I will be waiting until boxing-day to hit the shops when the sales start because they are meant to be absolutely awesome but I hate the mayhem.

Marie Curie Cancer Care has teamed up with Laura Ashley to call for donations of unwanted jewellery to raise funds for the charity. If you have any unwanted silver, gold or costume jewellery including anything odd, snapped or broken donate them to the national scheme and the charity will benefit from a share of the proceeds. The scheme was inspired by the first ever donation to the charity in 1948 - a diamond engagement ring that raised £75 at auction (equivalent to around £5,762 today). This ends the end of this month so drop any dontations to Laura Ashley shops or Marie Curie Cancer Care Shops or visit www.mariecurie.org.uk.

After searching on the internet for an unusual bracelet to wear on an upcoming night out i came across the below charm bracelet watch by DKNY which is ideal for me as I cannot live without my watch and it looks like a bracelet. It comes in either gold plated or stainless steel and is 30m water proof. The cost is £150.00 each and can be purchased at Beaverbrooks.

If these are not to your taste DKNY also do a stone set Stainless Steel Bracelet Watch (see below) for the same price as the 2 above which can also be found at Beaverbrooks.

Bangles are due to take centre stage on the accessories front for this summer. Be sure to seek out the cool and quirky designs of Central Saint Martins-trained Disaya Prakobsantisukh.

My particular favorite is the metallic zip creations as shown below. These were on the Vogue website and did not show a price so they probably cost a fortune
